Spott Privacy Policy

This policy covers the Spott mobile app for iPhone and Android ("Spott"). Spott is operated by Spott LLC.
Information we collect
- Identifiers, such as an app identifier created when you install Spott, and your IP address.
- Device information, such as device type, operating system and app version.
- Location, if you allow it.
- Activity in Spott, such as places you view, open or save, and your choices and answers.
- What you send us, such as questions you ask and spot reports.
We collect this information from you, from your device, and automatically when you use Spott.
Saved places are stored on your device.
How we use information
We use information to provide and improve Spott, give recommendations and answers, keep Spott secure, analyze how Spott is used, and comply with the law. We provide reporting to businesses listed on Spott.
Artificial intelligence
Some features use artificial intelligence from Anthropic. When you use them, we send your request and related information to Anthropic to generate a response.
Who we share information with
We share information with service providers that help us run Spott, including hosting, database, maps, email and AI providers. These providers are required to protect your information with the same or equal protection as this policy.
We also share information when required by law or to protect rights and safety.
Other parties, such as our service providers, may collect personally identifiable information about your online activities over time and across different websites and services when you use Spott.
Do Not Track
Spott does not respond to Do Not Track signals.
Security
We use reasonable safeguards, including encryption in transit, to protect your information.
Retention
We keep information as long as needed for the purposes in this policy or as required by law. For app activity collected before the effective date of this policy, we remove IP address and user agent after 12 months.
Your choices and deletion
You can withdraw consent in Spott's privacy settings when those controls are available, and you can turn off location in your device settings. To ask what we hold about you or to request deletion, email support@spottguide.com.

Children
Spott is not directed to children under 13, and if we learn we have collected personal information from a child under 13, we will delete it.
Changes
We will post any changes on this page and update the effective date.
